HeyEverybody,
I hope all is well. I thought I’d take a second and drop everyone a quick newsletter update from the Shiny Lapel Trio.
We’ve got lots of good things going on with the band these days.
The new CD is selling really well and we’re getting orders from all over the country which certainly makes us feel good. We recently added drummer Rich Dart to the Shiny Lapel Trio line up. Rich has some wicked drums skills and is a great addition to the SLT sound. When he’s not out keeping beat with us, you can sometimes find him playing drums for Mickey Dolenz of the MONKEYS and Greg Picolo from ROOMFUL OF BLUES.
We just finished doing some recording at Riverway Studios with our good friend and producer Ira Sakolsky. Ira is one of the nicest people around and Riverway Studios sounds better every time we’re there. If you’re a musician looking to record, I encourage you to give Ira a call.
In terms of seeing the band play, we’re booked all the way into November and we’ve got some great outdoor shows coming up this summer. I’ve got the updated calendar posted so please check it out.
Also, it’s a little way off but I’m very excited to let everyone know that we just put together a show at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in Old Saybrook CT with the legendary New England swingsters EIGHT TO THE BAR. The show isn’t slated until the end of the summer, but it’s going to be quite the blow out. I’m positive it will sell out. You can always check out EIGHT TO THE BAR at www.eighttothebar.com and The KATE at www.katharinehepburntheater.org
On a quick note about the Kate, if you’ve never been, it’s one of the nicest theaters in Connecticut. The last time we played there we had 237 people from all over New England dancin’ and romancin’ with us and Ryan Hartt and the Blue Hearts. It was definitely one of the best shows this year. Please feel free to drop me an email if you have any questions. We’d love to see you there.
That’s really all I can think of for the moment, so dust off those dancing shoes, get all purt’d up, and come see us play.
All the best,
Tiger
